INSTALLATION/ GLASS/ WATER/ BACTERIA/ VIDEO
„The Aquarium“ is a working room as a space installation, where the character of a laboratory and a display-layer are blended. The room is filled with Aquaria of different volumina, which show the artists process of a debate on nature and an idealized picture of nature. In the center of the room is an Aquarium without any stylistic device, reduced to the most primal form of living nature, Cyanobacteria.
With reduction the artist creates an abstract picture of nature and fullfills the wish on immediacy of this origin.
The display layer shows the monitoring of the room through a 30-day-time lapse video, the theoretical basis of the work and the dealing with Cyanobacteria in the present media.
